ALCOHOL 
All use of alcoholic beverages must be consistent with state law and University Regulation 3.021. Alcoholic beverages are only permitted within the North End Zone of Bragg Memorial Stadium. Violators will be removed from the stadium. FAMU does not endorse any behavior involving excessive alcohol consumption that impairs, disrupts, or jeopardizes the safety or enjoyment of event attendees, including those consuming alcohol.

BAG SEARCHES

Only small personal bags (purses, baby, and diaper bags) will be permitted inside Bragg Stadium. All bags are subject to search. Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle or discarded. 

 

What items are restricted from Bragg Stadium? 

·       Bags larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ including camera bags (New Bag Policy) 

·       Alcohol or illegal drugs 

·       Weapons or explosives 

·       Umbrellas 

·       Food or beverage from outside the stadium 

·       Coolers or containers, including cans, cups, and bottles 

·       Backpacks 

·       Chair backs with arms or chair backs that are larger than 16″ 

·       Artificial noisemakers (whistles, bells, air horns) 

·       Video equipment, tape recorders, cameras with lenses longer than 6″ 

·       Sticks, Poles, flags, or signs 

·       Laser pointers 

·       Laptops 

·       Pets (except special service animals) 

·       Seats with arm rests 

·       Strollers 

·       Skateboards 

·       Beach balls or other airborne objects

·       Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of the law enforcement officials as dictated by increased threat conditions. 

  

BABY CHANGING STATIONS

•      Baby changing stations are available in marked restrooms in the Stadium 

  

BUS GAME DAY SHUTTLE 

A complimentary game day shuttle service will be provided by the Office of Parking & Transportation for fans who will be parking in the ADA lots.  The ADA lots are the Welcome Center and SBI (School of Business and Industry) West lots.  The shuttle service will start running two (2) hours prior to game time and up to two (2) hours after the game is over. CAMERAS/VIDEO CAMERAS 

Cameras, other than professional cameras with detachable lenses, are allowed in the stadium. Video cameras are not permitted inside the stadium. Selfie sticks are not permitted.

 

CHILD TICKETING 

All people entering Bragg Stadium must present a valid game ticket for entry. Children age three (3) and under are admitted at no cost. 

 

CLEAR BAG POLICY FOR SPECTATORS 

Please note a clear bag policy is in effect for ALL FAMU Athletics venues, including Bragg Stadium, during all football games. All bags larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″, including purses and diaper bags, must be clear plastic and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″. For more details, please click here. 

 

CONCESSIONS 

Food/drink stands are located on the East and West Concourse of the stadium. 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT 

FAMU Athletics is committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all fans, staff, players, and coaches. To help us provide this first-class environment, we ask that all patrons and attendees follow these guidelines: 

 

•           Contribute to making the environment of FAMU Athletics the best by upholding the spirit of collegiate athletics. 

•           Ensure all fans are treated in a consistent, professional, and polite way by all staff and team personnel. 

•           Support our teams in a positive manner when consuming fans, teams and officials with dignity and respect. 

•           Promote an environment that minimizes disruption, creates a safe atmosphere for all, prevents interference with the game and ensures the enjoyment of the game for everyone. 

•           Refrain from using foul or abusive language or inappropriate gestures or attire. 

•           Be responsible when consuming alcoholic beverages. Impairment, intoxication, underage consumption, and unruly behavior will be addressed immediately. 

•           Sit only in the seat designated on your ticket and be prepared to present your ticket, if requested. 

•           Acknowledge that Florida A&M University is a tobacco-free campus, including e-cigarettes and smokeless cigarettes/tobacco. 

•           Comply with emergency messages, emergency procedures and requests from staff concerning the facility and game day operations. 

Disability Accommodations

  1. Gate Entry: Fans with disabilities are encouraged to enter through Gates 8 &11 for assistance.
  2. Ticketing: A limited number of seats are reserved for fans with disabilities. To request special accommodation, please contact the FAMU Box Office or (850) 599-3141.
  3. Parking: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking will be at the FAMU Welcome Center (north of the Villages). The overflow for ADA parking will be at the SBI (School of Business and Industry) West parking lot, and paved lot off Ardelia Court. Shuttles operate from two (2) hours prior to kick off until kick off and return to lots beginning in the 4th quarter. The shuttle service will finish two (2) hours after the game. Shuttles will transport fans from the ADA lots to and from the stadium at 15-20-minute intervals. 
  4. Animals: Animals, except for service animals, are prohibited in all buildings and tailgate areas. Fans who bring animals to campus must keep them on a leash at all times and clean their waste. Animals shall not be left unattended or secured to university property. Emotional support animals are not allowed.

DRONES (NO DRONE POLICY) 
The unauthorized use of any unmanned aircraft systems, radio-controlled model aircraft, and other devices that can be operated in airspace (i.e., drones) on university property, including the stadium and surrounding parking lots, is expressly prohibited pursuant to University policy UP-05-01 and federal law.  

ELEVATORS 

No elevators are available to the public. One (1) elevator is available in the press box tower by Gates 4 and 5. 

 

EMERGENCY 

For any emergency inside the stadium, please contact any usher/police officer or visit the FAMU Police Command Post at Gate 5. 

EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER: The emergency phone number for Bragg Stadium on game day is 850-599-3256. 

BRAGG ALERTS: Opt in to receive game-day emergency notifications via text message by texting “BRAGGALERTS” TO 888777.

 

EVACUATION 

In the event of an evacuation, please direct your attention to the public address announcement and corresponding video board messages. All exits are clearly marked throughout the stadium. 

 

FIELD ACCESS 

Only those authorized persons with valid credentials are allowed access to the playing field and sidelines at any time (including pre- and post-game). Violators are subject to arrest and ejection from the stadium. 

 

FIRST AID 

First Aid stations are located at Gates 3 and 11.  Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are located at Gates 11 and 17.  For assistance, contact a stadium usher or police officer. 

 

FOOD/BEVERAGES 

Fans may not bring food or beverages, including alcoholic beverages, inside of the stadium. Concession stands are located throughout the stadium and offer a variety of food and non-alcoholic beverages. 

 

GAME DATES/TIMES 

All game dates and times are subject to change and are based on television coverage. In the event a date or time is to change, information and updates will be released on famuathletics.com or call 850.599.3868. 

 

GAME DAY STADIUM ENTRY 

Fans sitting on the west side (sections A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J) are permitted to enter through the following gates: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Fans sitting on the east side (sections K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T) are permitted to enter through the following gates: 11, 12, 13, 14, 16. For North Endzone access, enter through the following gate: Gate 8 (west side). Valid game tickets and credentials are required, and bag checks are mandatory. GAME PROGRAMS 

You may find the digital game day program by downloading the official Florida A&M Rattlers app or visiting the football schedule page here. 

 

GATES OPEN 

All gates to the stadium open two (2) hours before kickoff. 

 

STUDENT GATES 

Students should enter the game through Gates 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17 on the east side of Bragg Stadium. 

LOST AND FOUND 

Lost items recovered during the game will be delivered to the Police Substation located at Gate 4. 

 

NOISE MAKERS 

Artificial noisemakers are not permitted inside Bragg Stadium. This includes air horns, bells, and whistles.Prohibited items may be confiscated. 

 

PARKING 

  1. Fans must use their FAMU Football game day parking permits to access designated lots or park in available public parking off campus. Streets are closed four (4) hours prior to kick-off. Parking issues are addressed at Gate 12. Fans are encouraged to consult the Department of Athletics website for preferred travel routes to Bragg Memorial Stadium and for access to the game day lots.
  2. Lots: All parking lots on campus are reserved to Athletics for Game Day parking beginning at 5:30 p.m., the day before the game. Employees, please ensure you are not parked in any lots during these times. On Game Day, the following parking lots will require a digital parking permit, Banneker Building A, B, C; Old FAMU DRS, Robert and Trudie Perkins Way lot, Recreation Field lot, and Recreation Center lot. Access Clutch App. Only Investing in Champions members are permitted to park in Bragg Memorial Stadium and the Althea Gibson Way Garage.
  3. Students from Polkinghorne Village should have moved their vehicles by 9 a.m. the day before the game. Parking rules and fees are administered by the FAMU Office of Parking & Transportation or call (850) 561-2657. 
  4. Permits: Parking permits will be required to access these parking lots: Welcome Center, SBI (East and West), FAMU Althea Gibson Way Garage, CASS  (Center for Access and Student Success) Building, and Bragg Memorial Stadium. Please have parking permits available to access entry points. 

Please be considerate of your fellow fans. Tailgating should be limited to the lined parking space and the area directly behind or in front of each vehicle. On game day, any Investing in Champions member who experiences challenges with parking permits may contact the FAMU Box Office.

  1. Parking is permitted only in the assigned lots and not on the grass.
  2. Towing: Fans who do not park in the assigned parking space will be ticketed and towed. Towing at Bragg Memorial Stadium, Althea Gibson Way Garage, Lua Bartley, and other reserved lots will begin midnight on Friday before game day. Parking placards should be placed on the dashboard to avoid towing. For more information about towing, please contact the Department of Athletics on (850) 567-5919.
  3. Prohibited Vehicles: Recreational vehicles (RVs), buses, trailers, box trucks and trucks are not allowed in the University tailgate areas. RV (Recreational vehicles) parking is designated in the Villages parking lot or Ardelia Court.
  4. FAMU Athletics reserves the right to terminate parking privileges for misconduct toward fellow fans, parking personnel or misuse of the permit, or abuse while tailgating. 

RV PARKING 
Fans who are permitted to RV Parking per game will be located in the Villages parking lot or Ardelia Court. Fans who will be RV parking will be allowed to park beginning 9 a.m. on Friday.

Parking resolution is handled at Gate 12 on game day. Due to limited vehicular access to campus on game days, fans must use their FAMU Football game day parking permits to access designated lots or park in available public parking off campus. 

 

VISITORS GAME DAY PARKING 

Band, cheerleading, and fan tour buses should follow the north to Bragg Memorial Stadium directions. Buses will be allowed entrance through the Althea Gibson and Okaloosa Check Point. Passengers will exit near the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and walk west to the east side of the Stadium.  

 

·       Buses will travel north on Althea Gibson Way 

·       Turn right on Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (formerly Gamble Street) 

·       Turn right on N. MLK (gates to the “Set” will be open) 

·       Turn right on Osceola Street 

·       Turn left on Althea Gibson Way 

  

Buses will park directly across from the FAMU Police Department (2400 Althea Gibson Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307) 

 

RADIOS 

Hand-held and pocket-sized portable radios are allowed in the facility. Please be considerate of other patrons and use an earpiece or headphones to listen to your radio. 

 

RE-ENTRY POLICY 

Fans are not allowed to re-enter the stadium once they leave. Only vehicular traffic will be allowed access from Perry Street into the Bragg Stadium parking Lot. Pedestrians will not be allowed entry from Perry Street into the Bragg Stadium parking lot. All pedestrians will be redirected to enter from Althea Gibson Way.  

 

ROAD CLOSURES 

Road closures around Bragg Memorial Stadium will begin at noon, unless otherwise stated. 

To facilitate the Homecoming Parade, Althea Gibson Way, Robert & Trudie Perkins Way, Martin Luther King Blvd., and Osceola Street will be closed from 6 a.m. 

 

Althea Gibson Way – from Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (formerly Gamble Street) to Okaloosa Street 

Perry Street – from Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (formerly Gamble Street) to Okaloosa Street 

 




SAFETY

 

Comply with emergency messages, emergency procedures and requests from staff concerning the facility and game day operations. 

 

Inclement Weather

  1. All fans are encouraged to opt in to Bragg Alerts by texting 888777 to receive game-day emergency notifications via text
  2. Lightning and strong winds may delay or postpone a game or event. 
  3.  In case of lightning, all fans in the stands must evacuate the stadium and return to their vehicles or the Al Lawson Center until the “all clear” sign is given. Event activities will resume once: 

    1. lightning is determined to be outside of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) lightning protocol radius of ten (10) miles and 
    2. 30 minutes have passed since both the last sound of thunder and the last flash of lightning, restarting the wait time after each strike.

  4. Lightning and strong winds may delay or postpone a game or event. 
  5. Umbrellas are prohibited inside of the stadium. If inclement weather is in the forecast, fans are encouraged to bring ponchos.
  6. First Aid: In case of emergency, please call 911. The First Aid Stations are located near Gate 3 on the west side and Gate 11 on the east side.  17. Leon County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are on the field and at Gates 11 and 17. Fans may contact a stadium usher or police officer for assistance.
  7. Lost Children: If a child is separated from their party, fans should contact the nearest FAMU police officer or report to Gate 5.
  8. FAMU Police: In case of emergency, please call 911. You may also contact any usher; police officer or visit the FAMU Police Command Post at Gate 5.
  9. Evacuation. In an evacuation, please direct your attention to the public address announcement and listen to the instructions of the Department of Athletics staff, event staff, and/or law enforcement. 

All exits are clearly marked throughout the stadium.

SMOKING AND TOBACCO POLICY 

The University is a smoke-free campus pursuant to University Regulation 5.006.

 

SOLICITATION 

The University does not permit unauthorized soliciting or collecting of contributions, vending, commercial sales or cash exchanges, distribution of flyers, or other promotional/advertising materials on FAMU’s property. If your business organization is interested, contact the Office of Business and Auxiliary Services on (850) 599-3090. No food, souvenir or clothing vendors are allowed in the designated tailgating areas.

 

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Special announcements on the public address system and scoreboard are limited to emergencies.   

 

TAILGATING 

1. Locations and Hours

a. Allowable areas: Tailgating is allowed in the designated tailgate areas on the Paddyfote lawn, and within designated parking spaces that have been purchased on campus. Other areas may be designated for tailgating as necessary, see additional information on the Department of Athletics’ website. Tailgaters are required to keep sidewalks and roadways clear of obstructions and follow the directives of law enforcement, parking attendants and special events staff. Fans are encouraged to be courteous to fellow fans and to discard trash appropriately. The University will provide trash containers and portable toilets for the convenience of fans on the Paddyfote lawn. 

b. Tailgating is permitted at Bragg Memorial Stadium; however, it is confined to the designated parking spaces that have been purchased. No tailgating is allowed in any parking garage or campus roadway and shall not impede vehicular or pedestrian traffic flow or parking spaces for other vehicles. The cooperation of fans in adhering to these designated rules will aid the University in providing a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. 

c. A limited number of additional tailgate spaces are available on the Paddyfote Lawn, located directly across from the Student Services Center on Althea Gibson Way. Tailgaters on the Paddyfote Lawn will be assigned a parking space and are expected to park in their designated space.

d. Hours of Operation: Streets are closed limiting access to tailgate areas beginning four (4) hours prior to kickoff. Drop-off/set up of tailgate items is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. the day before the game and beginning at 8 a.m. on game day. All tailgating items must be removed by noon the day after the game. 

e. Homecoming specific information may be found on the Department of Athletics website.

 

2. Tents

a. Tents that are no more than 20’x20′ are permitted.

b. Tents that obstruct a clear passage for rescue vehicles or personnel will be moved. 

c. Tents or canopies exceeding an 8′ x 8′ footprint and vehicles measuring more than 18′ in length and/or 8′ in width are not permitted to park in a lined parking space in Bragg Stadium.

 

3. Utilities. Individuals are prohibited from using University electrical outlets and water supplies. Extension cords and waterlines may not be connected to any campus building or structure.

4. Fees. Tailgating Permits may be purchased at the FAMU Box Office at (850) 599-3141. 

5. Fire Safety

a. Except for grilling, fire is prohibited. This includes open fire pits, fires built on the ground, and candles.

b. If a fire emergency should occur, call 911.

c. For those guests who tailgate, it is recommended that a minimum class 2A-10B:C fire extinguisher be available for use at your tailgate.

6. Food Safety

a. Propane grills are permitted and must always be attended, while charcoal grills are prohibited. Propane grills should not be within 10 feet of a vehicle’s gas cap and must be at least two (2) feet above the parking surface, so heat does not cause damage to the asphalt. Please do not leave hot grills unattended.

b. If tailgating on a grassy area, the grill must rest on a board to protect the grass and soil from damage. 

c. It is recommended that tailgaters remain hydrated and observe appropriate food safety guidelines, see foodsafety.gov for more information.

7. Tailgating Restrooms. Portable restrooms are located on the Paddyfote lawn.  Personal portable restrooms are prohibited.

BOX OFFICE/WILL CALL 

Visit the FAMU Box Office website here. FAMU Athletics is not responsible for, and cannot guarantee, the authenticity of any tickets purchased from someone other than the FAMU Athletics Box Office and Ticketmaster.com. On game day, the Box Office/Will Call will be located at the Al Lawson Center, 1800 Althea Gibson Way. Ticket Resolution is available at the Lawson Center Box Office. 

 

Student ticket issues/questions are located at the Box Office.

FAMU Football Player Guest and Visiting Team ticket distribution is in the Lawson Center lobby. 

 

The FAMU Box Office: will be open 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday. The Box Office will open four (4) hours prior to kickoff and close at halftime. 

 

TRAINING TENT/FIRST AID 

Tents for athletic trainers will be located in the Southwest End Zone. The Ambulance will be stationed at Gate 17 and EMS will be at Gates 17 and 11 throughout the game.  

 

TRAVEL ROUTES 

Traveling North to Bragg Memorial Stadium: 

·       Go north on Althea Gibson Way 

·       Turn right on Osceola Street 

·       Turn left on N. MLK (gates to the “Set” will be open) 

·       Turn left on Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (formerly Gamble Street) 

·       Turn left on Perry Street 

  

Traveling South to Bragg Memorial Stadium: 

·       Go west on FAMU Way (using the roundabout to exit onto Althea Gibson Way) 

·       Take Althea Gibson Way going south  

·       Turn right on Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (formerly Gamble Street) 

·       Turn left on Perry Street 

 

UMBRELLAS 

Umbrellas are prohibited inside of the stadium. If severe weather is in the forecast, fans are encouraged to bring ponchos.  

 

VENDING 

All approved vendors will be set up throughout Althea Gibson Way. Food vendors will only be allowed to set up in front of Gaither Gym. Only vendors who are approved by the Department of Athletics will be allowed to vend on the campus of Florida A&M University on football game day. All vendors must be licensed and insured, and must be verified prior to setup on FAMU’s campus. The University will conduct inspections to ensure adherence to this policy. 

 

WEATHER 

For weather updates that may affect games, fans may check the following website: https://www.weather.gov/tae/. In case of lightning, we will ask all fans in the stands to evacuate to their vehicles or the Al Lawson Center until the “all clear” sign is given. Event activities will resume once lightning is determined to be outside of the NCAA lightning protocol radius or no lightning strikes within a ten mile radius.  

WEAPONS 

No weapons of any kind are permitted in Bragg Memorial Stadium, in the Galimore-Powell Fieldhouse, Lawson Center, or in any designated FAMU venue. Any individual carrying a weapon on campus must secure their weapon in their vehicle or other property prior to entering the building or other campus facility. This policy does not include weapons used by off-duty law enforcement officers. 

 

ON-FIELD ACCESS/ENTRY 

The playing surface at Bragg Memorial Stadium is not to be entered before, during or after games by any patrons who have not obtained permission to do so. In addition, all gates that lead down to the field from the stands will be secured during games. No field access is granted to any individual that does not have an established function and is credentialed as determined by the FAMU Department of Athletics.   

 

NORTH END ZONE POLICIES 

Security will be enhanced. We want to ensure that patrons within the North End Zone who have purchased Investing in Champion packages are not crowded in the area with those who have not invested. We will implement an enhanced entry system. Security will be present at the two (2) openings to access the North End Zone Club.
