Jujutsu Kaisen is nearing its end now, and currently, fans are witnessing the incredible fight between Yuji Itadori and Sukuna. This fight, which started as an incredible raid, has seen the number of the sorcerers whittled down, and now, only Yuji remains, which is also an implication of the fact that it is now going to end.
Furthermore, the author already confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen is at its very climax right now, with only five more chapters left, which essentially means that the result of the battle between Yuji and Sukuna will be declared soon enough. In JJK chapter 267, Yuji even received more help, which all but confirms that Sukuna’s days are numbered. This help came in the form of Kugisaki Nobara, who fans know to be the main heroine of JJK, and one of the most important characters in the series.
Nobara’s Death In Jujutsu Kaisen Came In The Shibuya Incident Arc
- Killed By Mahito
- Saved By Nitta
Nobara was introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen as a very talented sorcerer. Although she was not always given as much attention as Megumi and Yuji, Nobara was always known to be someone comparable to them in terms of strength and skill. In the early parts of the story, Nobara was incredibly important, and one could say that she had a great future written out for herself. However, things changed quickly towards the Shibuya Incident Arc, where some inexplicable decisions were made by the author. One of them was to kill off Kugisaki Nobara, despite her being one of the main three characters in the series.
Hey Itadori, tell everyone it wasn’t so bad! – Nobara
Nobara was the only character who was dealt an unfair card, and Mahito essentially blew a significant portion of her face using his Idle Transfiguration technique when they fought. Nobara was left for dead, and Yuji was absolutely crushed upon seeing her body. Had it not been for Todo, Yuji would most likely have died in Shibuya as well. However, what was interesting was the fact that Nobara’s death was not confirmed in JJK. When Nobara received her injury, it was clearly stated that while the chances of her surviving were very low, they were not zero. Later on, after the events of Shibuya, Yuji asked Megumi about Nobara and did not receive an answer. Once again, even though the implication was that Nobara had died, there was no confirmation, and fans were absolutely certain that she would play a significant role in the story at some point later down the line.
Recently, Nobara was implied to have died when Yuji saw all the dead people in his life in a short memory montage. This was the chapter where fans were finally starting to let go and accepted the fact that she will never return, only for the author to do a complete 180 and bring her back in the story.
How Nobara Survived Her Death
Nobara Kugisaki Finally Woke Up And Joined The Battle
In JJK chapter 267, Kugisaki Nobara has finally managed to make her return, and it happened in the most exciting of ways. In the battle against Sukuna, while Yuji was fighting at his utmost best, the former was attempting to fight back. In fact, fans saw him trying to reopen his domain, destroy Yuji, and end the battle. However, moments before Sukuna opened the domain, Yuji received huge help from Nobara. The help that fans got came through Nobara’s Resonance technique. Essentially, the finger that fans saw in the last chapter belongs to none other than Sukuna. The finger that Rika ate did not belong to Sukuna but to Yuji.
The last finger, you weren’t able to retrieve it, were you? – Yuta
Since Yuji had Sukuna inside his body, he was essentially a cursed object himself, overflowing with Sukuna’s energy. This is precisely why eating a part of Yuji Itadori would allow Yuta to gain Sukuna’s technique. Meanwhile, Sukuna’s real finger was kept inside a shrine-like place, where Nobara struck it with her nail and hammer, utilizing the Resonance technique and dealing deadly damage to Sukuna’s soul. This, when coupled with the fact that Yuji is launching one Soul Dismantle upon another on Sukuna, can lead one to the conclusion that the King of Curses is not going to stand for long. Things are going to get very exciting from here onwards, and fans cannot wait to see how this battle wraps up and how Yuji and Nobara deal with the threat of the King of Curses.
Of course, fans might be confused as to how Nobara survived. There is no healing from the damage dealt by Idle Transfiguration. This is because Idle Transfiguration messes up one’s soul, which means that it cannot be healed, at least not easily. The only way to heal one’s soul is to be able to see its boundaries, and if one can do that, then one can essentially regenerate. For Nobara, this was not possible, which means that her help came externally. When Nobara was struck, Nitta made use of his technique to make sure that she survived. It appears that Nobara was in a state of coma or, at the very least, undergoing extensive treatment ever since.
Much of the reason why this was not made public to Yuji is to keep Nobara as a trump card, most likely. Similarly, Todo having his cursed technique was also hidden from Yuji. Nobara was likely not active when Yuji asked Megumi about her status. However, now, she has clearly woken up and is ready to go to battle again. Nobara has managed to survive a deadly blow, and the fact that she is now wearing an eye patch on the left side of her face means that she has not been able to heal the damage, but her brain is intact, and she is going to live.
Nobara’s Return Vs Sukuna In The Final Battle
Nobara Will Combine With Yuji To Defeat Sukuna
Jujutsu Kaisen has now seen Nobara take on a huge role in the battle against Ryomen Sukuna. Of course, Yuji is going to be the one who will defeat the King of Curses. However, he certainly cannot do it by himself. Yuji has received a lot of help in this fight, and without that, he would certainly have died long ago. The final push is now coming through the character of Nobara and it appears that the author is setting up a parallel to how Yuji and Nobara defeated Eso and Kechizu together. This time around, they are fighting against the greatest of all time, and their abilities are going to combine once again.
Yuji is going to hit his powerful black flashes imbued with Soul Damage power, while Nobara is going to use her Resonance technique to damage Sukuna’s soul. With these blows, his control over Megumi is going to weaken even further, which will allow him to get more involved in the fight as well. Essentially, Sukuna’s fate is now sealed and he’s going to fall in the next one or two chapters at most.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268, is set to be September 1, 2024.
