PSTET Notification 2024, Punjab TET Exam Date Announced, Check Application Details

The Punjab School Education Board has officially announced the examination date for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test 2024. The PSTET 2024 Examination is scheduled to be held on 01 December 2024. Soon, the board will release a detailed notification and invite online applications from eligible candidates.

PSTET serves as a crucial eligibility test for candidates who wish to secure teaching positions in primary and upper primary classes in schools across Punjab. It is divided into two papers: Paper 1 for primary teachers (Classes I-V) and Paper 2 for upper primary teachers (Classes VI-VIII). Eligible candidates must meet specific educational qualifications to apply for the PSTET Examination.

Educational Qualifications Required for PSTET

Candidates must possess one of the following educational qualifications to be eligible for Paper I or Paper II.

For Paper 1 (Primary Teacher: Classes I-V)

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, per NCTE regulations.
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduates with at least 50% marks along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) are also eligible for Paper 1, but they must complete a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of appointment.

For Paper 2 (Upper Primary Teacher: Classes VI-VIII)

• Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Additionally, candidates with a qualified B.Ed program recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in the TET exam.
